WP Crowdfunding is a WordPress plugin that allows you to create a crowdfunding website. With the plugin, you can create a crowdfunding website like Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or the similar websites. WP Crowdfunding requires WooCommerce to work. It uses WooCommerce to receive and manage the funds raised for your campaigns.

After installing and activating the WP Crowdfunding plugin, you will have a new option of product type when adding a new product called “Crowdfunding”. When selecting this product type, you will be presented with a set of new fields related to your campaign such as start date, end date, funding target, campaign location, and so on. The rests are not much different to regular products whereby you can add things like product/campaign image, product/campaign gallery, product/campaign description.

In addition to adding a campaign from WooCommerce dashboard, you can also add a campaign via a dedicated form provided by WP Crowdfunding. The form allows you (and your users) to add a campaign via a frontend interface, which is easier than the backend (WooCommerce dashboard). WP Crowdfunding itself comes with a dedicated dashboard which you can use to monitor their campaigns. From this dashboard, you can check the running campaigns, fund raised, total of backers, and so on. Furthermore, WP Crowdfunding also comes with a listing page that shows all campaigns on your website.

You will have the following pages after activating the WP Crowdfunding plugin:

  • CF Campaign Form (to create a new campaign)
  • CF Dashboard (to monitor campaigns)
  • CF Listing Page (to display campaigns)
  • CF User Registration (to accept user registration)

All pages above have a shortcode to make it easy for you to embed the WP Crowdfunding pages with the page builder of your choice in case you use one.

WP Crownfunding is released as a freemium plugin. The free version allows you to create the campaigns, while to accept funding payments you need to use add-ons. The WP Crowdfunding add-ons are available as a bundle. The bundle will allow you to integrate WP Crowdfunding with the following payment gateway services:

  • Authorize.Net
  • 2Checkout
  • Stripe Connect

In addition, you can also access more advanced features like native wallet, reports, reCAPTCHA, and custom email templates.
